Program: Lacrosse Literacy - Alberta Lacrosse Association (ALA)
Overview:
The Alberta Lacrosse Association seeks enthusiastic and reliable Lacrosse Instructors to deliver our Lacrosse Literacy community program in the Calgary Region. This role involves teaching introductory lacrosse sessions in schools and community groups during weekday daytime hours, with some evenings, and some bookings over the summer months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lacrosse lessons to school and community groups for all ages (up to 30 students).
- Create and follow structured lesson plans.
- Maintain a professional and positive presence on-site.
- Transport and manage program equipment (pickup and drop-off as needed).
- Coordinate scheduling and logistics with ALA staff and school personnel.
Availability:
- Weekday daytime/evening availability during the school year and summer (flexible scheduling based on your availability).
- Some weekend availability is desired but not required.
- Willingness to take on multiple bookings throughout the year.
Requirements:
- Lacrosse coaching experience, minimum Community Development certification, and strong knowledge of the sport (higher certification levels preferred).
- Desire to take Safe Sport Training through Coach.ca.
- Willingness to take the following Jumpstart Programs:
- Respect in Sport Youth Activity Leader.
- Keeping Girls in Sports.
- Supporting Positive Behaviors and Welcoming All Abilities.
- The capacity to take the First Aid/CPR Level C certification, or already possess this credential.
- Provide a clean vulnerable sector background check.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- The Alberta Lacrosse Association will reimburse for a vulnerable sector check and the First Aid/CPR Level C certification. The City of Calgary will provide complimentary Jump Start Programs. Safe Sport Training through Coach.ca is free.
Success in This Role Includes:
- Representing the ALA professionally at all times.
- Collaborating effectively with school staff and the ALA team.
- Demonstrating leadership and initiative in the classroom.

This is a contractor role, and compensation is based on the number of programs delivered. There is an opportunity to provide similar related services on behalf of the ALA.
