Get ready for one of the biggest weekends in box lacrosse! The Calgary Roughnecks Canada Day Tournament, hosted by the Calgary District Lacrosse Association (CDLA), is back and bigger than ever.
Celebrating its roots since 1977, the tournament originally started as a Peewee-only event. Over the years, it has expanded to include Bantam, Novice, and now welcomes teams across U11 through U17 divisions. Today, it proudly stands as the largest indoor lacrosse tournament in North America, with around 100 teams competing annually.
This year’s event welcomes teams from across Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario, the USA, and even the Czech Republic—making it a truly international celebration of lacrosse!
Behind the scenes, tournament organizer Kim Natt has been leading the charge since 2014. Each year, two CDLA clubs co-host the event, sharing more than 800 volunteer hours over the four action-packed days. With multiple vendors, exciting competition, and passionate community support, this event continues to be a highlight of the lacrosse season.
We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Calgary for another unforgettable Canada Day tournament!
