Wheatland Lacrosse President
Matt Harasiuk
I was born and raised in the Vermilion area, where I first discovered my passion for lacrosse playing for the Roar in juniors. From the moment I picked up a stick, I knew the game would be a lifelong passion. The friendships, lessons, and experiences I gained were invaluable, and I wanted to stay involved long after my playing days were over.
When I aged out of juniors, a few of us saw the need for a senior team in our area, so we took on the challenge of starting one in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League (RMLL). That effort led to the formation of the Border Rage, giving local players the
chance to continue competing at a high level. Seeing the team grow has been incredibly rewarding.
Today, I'm still in the Vermilion area, and lacrosse remains a central part of my life. Both my kids have started playing, and watching them develop the same love for the sport inspired me to give back. That's why I took on the role of president of Wheatland-to help grow the game and ensure young athletes have the same opportunities I did. Lacrosse has given me lifelong friendships, valuable lessons, and unforgettable experiences, and I'm proud to help shape its future in our community.
