Alex Matsuoka


Alex has been playing lacrosse for 16 years. During this time Alex played for Calgary Hornets Box Lacrosse Association, Calgary Field Lacrosse and the ELEV8 Women’s Travel Team. Alex played for the Team Alberta U19 Field Team from 2015 to 2020, as well as also playing on the Team Alberta Female Box team, where she was chosen as a Captain in her second year on the team. Alex was an also Captain of the Provincial Championship 2019 Jesters Field Team with Coach Lesley Hawke. Alex is currently playing NCAA Division 1 Lacrosse at the University of Oregon, where she is a Captain in her Junior season, playing Midfield for The Ducks. Most recently Alex was selected to compete for Team Canada on the Senior Women’s National Team at the Super Sixes event helping Team Canada win the event in the fall of 2022, and competing again gaining silver with the team in 2023. Alex has coached for Calgary Field Lacrosse, and was an Assistant Coach with Team AB U20 for the 2023 season, earning a Bronze Medal at Nationals. Alex currently coaches for Hawke Lacrosse and enjoys giving back to the game of lacrosse whenever she is able. Alex is very excited to help bring a new level of success to Alberta Women’s Lacrosse.
