Eric Contreras


Eric's dedication to coaching lacrosse is evident from his commitment since 2012,
where he began coaching with the Calgary Hornets association. His involvement spans
across all levels of the sport, from U7 to U17, demonstrating his versatility in coaching
various age groups and skill levels. Notably, he recently coached the Calgary Fury U15
Selects team and Zone 3 in the Alberta Summer Games, showcasing his expertise in
guiding teams through competitive environments.


Over the past seven years, Eric has focused on developing female athletes,
emphasizing a positive and competitive environment. He actively seeks to enhance his
coaching skills by engaging with other experienced coaches, demonstrating his
willingness to learn and adapt to different coaching methodologies. This collaborative
approach underscores his commitment to continuous improvement and player
development. 


Beyond the lacrosse floor, Eric has played an active role on several lacrosse boards
over the past decade, serving as a director and more recently as an Association
President, further demonstrating his commitment to the sport’s growth and
development.


Eric's coaching philosophy revolves around creating tailored development atmospheres
for female lacrosse players, emphasizing teamwork and leveraging individual strengths
for collective success. His emphasis on team culture both on and off the floor highlights
his belief in fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship among players.
