Jim Weller


Weller is a 4 time member of Team Canada Field Lacrosse having played in 3 World Championships and the 1984 ‘pre-Olympic world tournament’ in Los Angeles. Arguable one of the best field lacrosse players Canada has ever produced, Jim was named to 2 All-World, All-Star teams. He was the tournament leading scorer on 2 separate occasions.

Jim was a 3 x All American at UMASS and holds the UMASS single season goals and points record. He is still ranked in the top 15 in single season goals in NCAA lacrosse history. Jim’s attack unit at UMASS held the total single season points record for more than 25 years, finally being eclipsed by the Thompson trio at Albany.

Weller played 5 years of Jr ‘A’ lacrosse for the St. Catherines ‘A’s and Hamilton Bengals. He went on to play in the Mann Cup for the Brampton Excelsiors Sr ‘A’ team and was the leading scorer in the Mann Cup series.

Jim is a 4 time coach of Team Alberta Field Lacrosse. He has coached box lacrosse with the Sr ‘A’ Brooklin Lacrosse Club, Edmonton Warriors minor program and field lacrosse for the Apex Field Lacrosse club.
