Lesley Hawke

Lesley is a long-standing lacrosse volunteer whose love of the game started at a young age in Ontario. Lesley was an Ontario Junior Provincial team member, winning back-to-back National Championships. Lesley was subsequently selected as a player for the Team Canada Junior Field team, where she helped bring home a bronze medal. She went on to play lacrosse at Brock University, serving as a team captain, and leading the league in scoring, all while also receiving a degree (with honours) in child and youth studies.

Upon moving to Calgary, Lesley began a longstanding head coaching stint with Calgary Field Lacrosse, after receiving coach of the year honours back in Oshawa, Ontario. Lesley has coached for many different organizations, including Team Alberta on multiple occasions, highlighted by a silver medal at the Jenny Kyle Cup in 2022, and followed up by a bronze medal in 2023. Lesley and her staff will look to build off the past year's success and momentum, competing for a National Championship while also delivering an A-plus experience that promises to be filled with memories for her athletes.

Not to be outdone on the field and floor, Lesley is also an outstanding board member and volunteer behind the scenes. On multiple occasions, Lesley has been a national team evaluator, sits as President for AFLA (Alberta Field Lacrosse Association), is a Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame board member, and is newly appointed Athlete Director for Lacrosse Canada. On top of all that, she is also a Learning Facilitator for both box and field, continuing to give back and develop the next great group of coaches.

Lesley prides herself on putting the athlete's development and mental health at the forefront of everything she does, constantly providing positive experiences for her athletes. She brings a positive can-do attitude that is infectious in building a culture that we strive for with Team Alberta.
