Robin Finley


Robin recently lead Team Alberta to its first ever female box lacrosse gold medal at the
2023 U22 Nationals where Team Alberta defeated BC and previously undefeated Team
Ontario on the same. Robin in a fixture in the Alberta lacrosse community with 45 years
experience including, 30 years coaching and 16 exclusively coaching female athletes.
He is a founding member of Fury Lacrosse (all female minor lacrosse association) and
remains their Director of Coaching as well as the General Manager and Head Coach of
the Junior Female Silvertip. This will be his fourth time leading Team Alberta at the
Nationals including nationals in Calgary, Halifax and Regina.
Robin’s strengths a coach include a strong technical aptitude, strategic thinking along,
with the ability to quickly implement and develop culture in a trusting team environment.
He believes in life lessons through sport and that coaching female athlete is true
privilege. He is an effective communicator who clearly sets expectations and has
become renown for his pre game dressing room speeches that escalate as the stakes
rise.

He commits to being prepared for every, practice, game and team event putting in the
effort to achieve team goals.
He brings enthusiasm and relentless energy to everything he does, the game has to be
fun and you always get more from players who love coming to the rink. Lacrosse should
be the bet part of every day.
In exchange for bringing respect, effort and enthusiasm, Robin strives to earn these in
return. He looks forward to leading U22 Team Alberta in defending their 2023
Championship this summer.
