Simon Giourmetakis


Simon is an Alberta born and raised player who was the Jr A scoring champion in 2006 & 2009. He went on to win a Minto Cup playing for the Coquitlam Adanacs in 2010 and Senior ‘A’ lacrosse for the Maple Ridge Burrards. Giourmetakis was drafted 33rd overall by the Edmonton Rush in 2012.
Simon earned an athletic scholarship to Canisius College where he scored 77 goals and 37 assists ranking him 14th in program history. He was selected First Team Conference All-Star on two occasions while at Canisius and starred for the upstart Team Germany in the 2014 World Field Lacrosse Championships.
Giourmetakis is a 4 time coach of Team Alberta Field Lacrosse. He has also coached with the Edmonton Razorbacks and Apex Field Lacrosse Club, an NCAA focused recruiting program.
